About me

My name is Phoebe. I am a Technology Professional at a telecommunications company who doesn’t know what she’s doing half of the time but is amazed at how much she’s learned since she started a couple of months ago.

Prior to this position, I was a Retail Sales Associate for almost 7 years at the company until I decided to put my degree in Computer Science to use and apply for an internship at their corporate headquarters. Best decision I ever made.

The name of my blog? Inspired by one of my favorite examples of #BlackGirlMagic , Miss Issa Rae, who started off her career as an actress/writer/awesome human being with her Youtube series, Awkward Black Girl. Also, as many of my family, friends, coworkers will attest to, and you will soon find out, I am one of thee most A W K W A R D people you will ever come across. You’ve been warned.

While I am still nowhere near expert level, my love for coding is indescribable. The good, the bad, the ugly (like really ugly) I love every part of it. I am currently working on mastering C#/C#.Net through various work projects and personal projects, and am currently in the process of finishing my first website! (I have a bottle of celebratory wine currently waiting for the occasion) Once I get the hang of it, I plan on learning another language – maybe Java? We’ll see.

I absolutely love my first job as a coder so far, but I admit I’ve been faced with a great amount of adversities,  which is one of the things that compelled me to start this blog. I want to document my journey and be of aide to those who may be going through similar situations. I would also like to become comfortable in speaking about my experiences, my challenges, my work, my knowledge, etc. etc. etc….

I’m thanking all my readers in advance for tuning in and checking out my blog . All comments, constructive criticism, and expertise are welcome as I want my blog to be a platform where many, including myself can learn from. Let’s go!
